New AF therapies for rhythm and rate control
Vitatron continues its tradition of unique solutions for AF with
the introduction of the Selection 9000 AF3.0. This cardiac stimulator
offers a series of AF monitoring diagnostics, new AF prevention
pacing therapy and new rate control therapies. AF-patients who already
have a Selection 9000 can benefit from these new treatment options
without having to undergo another invasive implant procedure. They
will be the first patients to undergo a groundbreaking therapeutic
upgrade.
Upgrade
AF treatment strategies change rapidly and continuously.
The AF3.0 therapeutic upgrade gives physicians the unique opportunity
to quickly adapt new AF pacing solutions and give patients the
newest therapies without additional invasive surgical procedures.
Vitatron is the first to introduce industry exclusive therapeutic
upgrades. AF patients who have the Selection 9000 can benefit
from new rhythm and rate control therapies for AF without having
to undergo a new implant. During their next follow-up visit they
will be given an AF3.0 upgrade automatically. This means less
surgical procedures and fewer hospitalizations, a breakthrough
for patients and less burden on healthcare.
AF monitoring diagnostics
With the Selection 9000 AF3.0 Vitatron offers AF monitoring diagnostics
which allow for early detection and diagnosis of AF, monitor disease
progression, evaluate AF treatment success and assess AF burden.
Vitatron’s unique Beat-to-Beat atrial rhythm monitoring
ensures instant recognition of irregularities.
Atrial rhythm control
The Selection 9000 AF3.0 offers an extensive array of AF prevention
pacing therapies. The therapies in the Selection 9000 AF3.0 consist
of four algorithms for triggered overdrive pacing which reacts
to onset triggers of AF: PAC Suppression, PAC Response, Post-AF
Response and Post-Exercise Response. In addition, there are two
more algorithms for continuous overdrive pacing which aim to condition
the atrial activation pattern by dynamically overdriving the atrial
rate: Pace Conditioning and Rate Soothing. This combination of
continuous AF monitoring and six preventive pacing therapies enables
physicians to fine-tune treatment. With the Selection 9000 AF3.0
they can provide a “tailor made” therapy with the
right pacing rhythm for every patient.

Ventricular rate control
In some patients atrial fibrillation also affects the ventricles.
The Selection 9000 AF3.0 is a cardiac stimulator that offers ventricular
rate control algorithms as a solution to this problem. Ventricular
Rate Stabilization, promotes a stable ventricular rate during
AF episodes and is aimed to reduce patient symptoms. For pacemaker
dependent patients, the Selection 9000 AF3.0 offers Beat-to-Beat
Mode Switching to prevent tracking of high atrial rates.
